Steve Alterman is a nature photographer specializing in images of North Carolina's Outer Banks, the American West and the Hawaiian Islands. Recent publication credits include two regional best selling books of photographic art, Outer Banks Edge and Kauai Edge (with Hawaiian photographer Scott Hanft), as well as publication in Arizona Highways magazine, Hawaii Magazine and The Edge Outer Banks. His entries earned him either first place or grand prize recognition in Hawaii Magazine's photo contests in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003, and his poster of the interior of the Currituck Beach Lighthouse was chosen for display in Washington, D.C.'s Corcoran Gallery of Art. Several international calendar companies have used his photographs and his work appears in several private photographic art collections.

After 37 years of living temporarily in the Washington, D.C. area, Steve has relocated to Duck, North Carolina, where he lives with his wife, Lynne, and their two wonder dogs, Snickers and Pearl.
